Coleen Rooney and other stars revealed for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! jungle | Ents & Arts News

Coleen Rooney, McFly singer Danny Jones, and boxer Barry McGuigan are among the stars getting ready to enter the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! jungle, producers have confirmed.

After much speculation about the line-up for the latest series, the celebrities have been announced with less than a week until the show begins.

N-Dubz singer and former X Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos, Coronation Street actor Alan Halsall, and Strictly Come Dancing star Oti Mabuse are also among the famous faces taking part.

Rooney, the wife of former Manchester United and England footballer Wayne Rooney, is a big name for I’m A Celebrity following her high-profile legal battle with Rebekah Vardy, who previously competed on the show in 2017.

The “Wagatha Christie” case began in 2019, when Rooney claimed stories about her private life were being leaked to tabloids via Vardy’s Instagram account, in a post on social media that went viral. The case culminated with a trial at the High Court in 2022, which found Rooney’s post was “substantially true”.

Now, the mother-of-four has said she is hopeful that appearing on the hit ITV reality show will give people “a better idea of what kind of person I am”.

She said she had been asked “year after year” to appear on the programme, but up until now her answer had always been “a straight no”.

However, she has changed her mind now her four sons are older and she is able to “go away for this length of time”.

Wayne ‘supportive’ of jungle adventure

The 38-year-old said Wayne and her family have been “very supportive” about her entering the jungle in Australia, and that her husband is “fine” with her being on camera 24/7.

“My parents are happy too that I’m doing something for me,” she added.

Aside from her friends and family, Rooney said the thing she will miss most is her phone – along with a notepad and pen, as she loves “jotting things down”.
