‘Controversial’ method to cook bacon may just be ‘the best’

Bacon is a tasty dish to start the morning with, and if you wake up at the weekend to the aroma floating through the air, you know you’re in for a delicious feast.

However, when you’re cooking for yourself, it can be challenging to determine which method to use. You may grill your bacon, thinking it tastes nicest, or you may lay every single piece of bacon flat in the pan, thinking that it’ll get it nice and crispy.

Giving her view on how to cook bacon the best way, TikTok user @fk8tosh said that she saw someone use a certain method, and ever since, she’s made it this way and it never fails to be tasty.

Shockingly, and perhaps controversially, the whole pack of bacon was put in the pan altogether, rather than being separated out.

And at first, it looks like it’s boiling, and the bacon looks a little bit gross and flaccid, rather than looking crispy and delicious.

But eventually, with a little bit of patience, all the bacon separates, starts to crisp up and looks perfect. Of course, you can cook it to your liking as well, you’ll just have to take it out earlier if you’re not a fan of your bacon crispy.

It’s very much a ‘trust the process’ type of method, and you’ll likely think it looks horrible upon first glance, but you need to try it for yourself.

Some people in the comments defended “floppy bacon” over “crispy bacon,” but some asked them whether “they were okay”.

One woman wrote: “Oven bacon!! It’s so easy to make, and grease doesn’t splatter everywhere, and it always gets so juicy”.

Others suggested using a “pan lid” if they were concerned about grease splattering everywhere, or cooking bacon in less oil or butter.

Someone joked that they couldn’t “wait to try this” and then “get p**** off when it doesn’t work,” but the original poster reassured him that it really does work, but just “takes forever”.

One TikToker said that they microwaved their bacon, which left some people mortified.

One man wrote: “Cooking bacon in the oven is better, but this works too. You have to pick bacon, which is reasonably high fat. And also you have to pick a pan which is small enough so that it’s sitting in that grease to cook”.

Another foodie said: “If anyone tries to make bacon like this for me, I’m straight up leaving and never talking to them again”.

Someone commented that they feared they were on the “soggy bacon side of TikTok,” but they clearly hadn’t watched the video until the end.
