Donald Trump reveals Vladimir Putin made horrifying vow to him in 75-minute phone call | World | News

Vladimir Putin has vowed to Donald Trump that Russia will respond to Ukraine‘s formidable attacks carried out in the last few days. The US President shared on the social media platform Truth Social that he held a 75-minute phone call with the Russian leader on June 4.

The conversation included discussions on the war in Ukraine and Iran’s nuclear ambitions. Mr Trump wrote: “I just finished speaking, by telephone, with President Vladimir Putin, of Russia. The call lasted approximately one hour and 15 minutes. We discussed the attack on Russia’s docked airplanes, by Ukraine, and also various other attacks that have been taking place by both sides. It was a good conversation, but not a conversation that will lead to immediate Peace. President Putin did say, and very strongly, that he will have to respond to the recent attack on the airfields.”

Without mentioning whether he tried to dissuade the Kremlin from issuing new attacks against Ukraine, Mr Trump then said: “We also discussed Iran, and the fact that time is running out on Iran’s decision pertaining to nuclear weapons, which must be made quickly!

“I stated to President Putin that Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon and, on this, I believe that we were in agreement. President Putin suggested that he will participate in the discussions with Iran and that he could, perhaps, be helpful in getting this brought to a rapid conclusion. It is my opinion that Iran has been slowwalking their decision on this very important matter, and we will need a definitive answer in a very short period of time!”

Ukraine stunned the Kremlin and much of the rest of the world when it launched a daring attack on several Russian airbases on Sunday.

Operation Spiderweb was over one year in the making and decimated Russia‘s standing fleet of Soviet-era strategic bombers, which are no longer in production.

Kyiv claims to have destroyed around 40 bombers, including a US$350 million A50 spy plane at bases located thousands of miles from the Ukrainain border.

The bombers were used to launch lethal attacks on Ukraine‘s cities, including the recent intense aerial bombardments that left scores of civilians dead or injured.

The outrageously bold drone attack represents a massive failure by Russia‘s intellignece services and a furious Putin is reported to be on the war path to find those responsible.

Meanwhile, Iran’s Supreme Leader has launched a withering attack on Donald Trump, branding the US President as “rude and arrogant”.

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s outburst came as he flatly rejected the latest US proposals for a nuclear deal, that would allow Iran to enrich uranium to only 3%.
