Dragons Den star’s hack to make Xmas wreath with simple item
Welcoming guests with a festive wreath on your door is the epitome of Christmas cheer.
They’re warm, inviting and embellish our homes with seasonal charm as we countdown to the big day. Unfortunately, buying these Yuletide decorations can often come with a hefty price tag that could rattle your holiday budget.
However, there’s no need for concern, as Dragons’ Den’s Sara Davies has taken to Instagram to share a nifty hack that could see us crafting our own beautiful wreaths at home. All it takes is an old coat hanger and leftover Christmas baubles to get started on this crafty project.
Explaining what to do, Sara said: “So I’m pretty sure everyone has an old wired coat hanger lurking in the back of their wardrobe somewhere right? Well – I have got the best way to use it to make the most gorgeous Christmas wreath while using up all your left over baubles.
“All you need to do is split the coat hanger, and make it into a circle shape for the wreath, then just thread on all your baubles – no pattern or order to it just pop them on randomly in any sizes and colours that you like.”
She further explained: “Then, once the wire is completely full of baubles, so it looks like a wreath and you’re happy with it, twist the wire back into how it was before (you can add some tape or something over this so your sure it won’t come apart), and then I just added a bow at the top to finish it all off.”
Sara has revealed her secret to creating the “best” wreath ever, which is not only affordable and simple to make, but also ensures your door looks absolutely stunning. The TV personality confessed her “obsession” with this nifty crafting trick, ranking it among her top festive activities.
She thinks it’s a great way to make a wreath on a budget, and it’s so easy to do too. It’s the perfect activity to keep the kids busy during the hectic festive season.
The final product’s beauty is undeniable – and, since posting the tutorial, the video has garnered more than 407,000 likes and attracted several compliments.
Craft enthusiasts are eager to try it out, with one saying: “Deffo gonna do this as I have far too many baubles up in the loft!”
Another commented: “Looks great Sara! Great job.” A third added: “Wow I love this and so simple. The most difficult will be finding a wire coat hanger nowadays.”
A fourth also chimed in with: “Okay this is the only Christmas craft on Instagram I’m trying….genius.”
