EDF Energy is offering the chance to win free energy for an entire year – and you don’t have to be a customer to enter. The energy provider is running four prize draws each month from September to December in 2025.

One winner will be chosen at random on each month, producing four winners. Entering enters hopefuls into all subsequent prize draws under the promotion. Each winner will get a £0 gas and electricity residential tariff (nil unit rate and nil standing charge) with EDF that experies 12 months from the date of the tariff commencement, according to the terms and conditions.

Applicants must:

  • be at least 18 years of age;
  • be entering as a residential customer;
  • be responsible for the supply contract for energy at your home;
  • reside in Great Britain (not available in Northern Ireland); and
  • not be an employee of EDF, its affiliates, subsidiaries or agents (this includes EDF Power Solutions, EDF Trading, EDF Heat Pumps, Contact Solar and Pod).

The promotion, which will end at 11.59pm on December 21, is open to EDF and non-EDF customers, but not available to the firm’s employees, its affiliates, subsidiaries or agents.

You can check eligibility, read the full terms and conditions, and enter on EDF’s website.

Meanwhile, EDF has brought back its Sunday Saver challenge this October, which the firm says aims to save cash for customers and reduce carbon emissions “while contributing to a more sustainable national electricity grid”.

The scheme rewards eligible customers who shift their daily electricity usage outside of peak hours, which are usually between 4pm and 7pm on weekdays, to earn hours of free electrity on Sundays.

“The more energy they move to off-peak times, the more free electricity they can unlock the following Sunday – ranging from four to a maximum of 16 hours,” a press release explains.
