Embrace the last weeks of summer with important seasonal living tips
As the summer sun begins to wane and the cosy allure of autumn beckons, many are ready to swap their iced lattes for steaming mugs and embrace the season’s comforts. Yet, before you snuggle down, remember there’s still a slice of summer left to savour.
For those keen on living in harmony with the seasons, one savvy woman has shared her tips for making the most of the remaining summer days as we edge closer to the Autumn Equinox on Sunday, September 22.
TikTok sensation @jodie.melissa recently enlightened her followers by highlighting that September is “such a gorgeous month to really start to ground yourself, connect back and reset”, suggesting it’s an ideal time for self-reflection rather than waiting for the ‘new year, new me’ resolutions to roll around in 2025.
Jodie pointed out that “We actually spend most of September in late summer” which she claims is the “perfect time for sunsets – really gorgeous golden lighting”.
She also noted the delightful blend of “warmer days, but cooler nights” during this period, urging her audience to “start to feel that transition happening”, and to be “taking note of and being mindful of the fact that we are slowly moving into autumn”.
Moreover, Jodie highlighted that September is prime time for engaging in seasonal activities like “go blackberry picking”, and whipping up your “favourite apple-based recipes” while the fruits are ripe and abundant.
Embracing the ‘back-to-school energy’, she encourages everyone to “take stock of the year, reflect, and think about how you wanna move forward as you move into the cosier months”.
The influencer shared seven top tips to help her followers embrace the change in seasons, writing: “1. Watch the sunset and spend time outside noticing how things are changing”.
She continued: “2. Keep track of the changing sunrise and sunset times to help ground you in the transition.”
The third tip she shared was: “3. Go blackberry picking and bake with seasonal fruits and veg.”
Her fourth pearl of wisdom was: “4. Reflect on the year so far and think about how you want autumn/ the final few months of the year to look and feel.”
The social media star went on to advise her followers to: “5. Go for a swim in the sea or lakes – they’re at their warmest so perfect if it’s your first time too!”
Tip number six was: “6. Mark Autumn Equinox on the 22nd of this month.”
And finally, she concluded: “7. Enjoy the change without any pressure to rush, we’ve still got a few weeks of summer left.”
