Emma Raducanu handed damning triple concern days after quitting rest of her season | Tennis | Sport

However, tennis fans have now suggested that things won’t go to plan for Raducanu moving forward. The 2021 US Open champion has made it clear that her immediate goal is to be seeded for January’s Australian Open.

Players ranked inside the top 32 when the draw is made the week before the tournament begins will be seeded, and Raducanu currently sits at No. 29 in the world. There’s still time for things to move around, but the Brit has at least given herself some breathing room in the rankings before ending her season.

But 61 per cent of Express Sport readers believe that Raducanu will not be seeded at the Australian Open, despite her current ranking.

Raducanu has been given brutal draws at the four Majors this year, missing out on a seeding every time, and wasn’t able to make it into the second week.

In comparison, 10 per cent of fans believe Raducanu will be the next Brit to win a title, and another 10 per cent are backing Sonay Kartal. Seven per cent went with Cameron Norrie, and three per cent thought Katie Boulter would add to her trophy cabinet again.

Some readers believe Raducanu will never win another title. So far, her only triumph has come at the 2021 US Open, where she made history as the only qualifier to be crowned a Grand Slam champion.

When asked when she would claim another trophy, 55 per cent said Raducanu never would. Before she ended her season, only two per cent thought it would come in the remainder of 2025, while 26 per cent backed Raducanu to lift a title next year, and 17 per cent thought it would come in 2027 or later.
