Enzo Maresca breaks silence on Man City with Chelsea contract statement | Football | Sport

“I have a contract here until 2029 and my focus is about this club. I’m very proud to be here. It’s speculation. One week ago, it was the same with Juventus so I don’t pay attention.

“Again, it’s just speculation. It’s important to understand the reason why this news was there, but it’s not my job. I don’t care at all and the focus is on the Newcastle game.”

When asked if he will be at Stamford Bridge next season, Maresca added: “Yes, absolutely. I have a contract until June 2029.”

Speaking ahead of the trip to Newcastle, Maresca confirmed he has no new injury problems from the Carabao Cup quarter-final victory over Cardiff.

“We are good,” he shared. “The ones that we left out for Cardiff are okay. Liam Delap and Estevao Willian are probably available for Aston Villa and Romeo [Lavia] is still out, Levi [Colwill] is still out.”

“We said since his [Delap’s] injury, we didn’t know exactly for how long but he is progressing well.

“We achieved the third semi-final in 18 months the other day. Last year was good in terms of trophies and finishing fourth in the Premier League. The target is to try and improve on what we did last season.

“Sandro Tonali, Guimaraes, Joelinton, [Lewis] Miley also, they are all fantastic players, international players. They complete each other. They are physically strong and good on the ball. They are 100% complete, perfect. It’s difficult for any team to face them.”
