Esteban Ocon insists he’s leaving clashes with F1 team-mates in the past ahead of his new partnership with Oliver Bearman at Haas.

The Frenchman has previously had issues with Sergio Perez, Fernando Alonso and Pierre Gasly, but he has enjoyed a positive start alongside Bearman.

“No. It is a fresh start for me, the team, and Ollie, and I really want to work well with everyone,” Ocon told Express Sport. “Right now, it is going to be super important to team up and improve on the things we want.

“We had a very good week with Ollie because we’ve stayed together pretty much the whole week, going to New York, getting to know each other, talking about racing and non-racing.

“He’s a super great character, a super fun guy outside of the car and a very organised person once we come to racing. We keep texting this week because I drove the filming day – I already gave him some stuff to validate, you know, for after.

“I asked him, ‘What do you think of this because that’s what you’re going to have in the car now?’ Then are we taking it or getting rid of it? Let’s come to a conclusion once he drives the car.

“I don’t think I’ve been able to really communicate with any other drivers in the past in that detail. But yeah, the importance is to work well, close the past chapter and do a good job.”
