F1 LIVE: Lewis Hamilton waits on huge Ferrari decision as drivers argue | F1 | Sport

Jack Doohan’s bad crash in FP2 crash at the Japanese Grand Prix has sparked debate over the drag reduction system (DRS) used in F1.

DRS must be manually shut off by drivers braking, lifting off the throttle, or pressing the DRS button. But many are arguing the system needs to be automated.

Charles Leclerc in one to have spoken out, saying: “I feel like, if we have some kind of (automated) system like this, I think we can maybe use it and have more DRS.

“But I also feel like it can be up to us.”
