People are raving about a biography film that’s got a perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
The movie, set in Scotland, follows the true story of John Davidson and his life with Tourette’s. It stars Robert Aramayo and has left both critics and general viewers in floods of tears.
Luke Eccleston, a film reviewer from Wigan, has watched more than 400 different titles in 2025. However, this one really stands out to him.
Speaking about the movie on TikTok, Luke said: “This is one of the most outstanding and most remarkable films I have seen all year and you need to watch it immediately.”
He continued: “The film I’m talking about is called I Swear. This follows John Davidson, a man who has Tourette’s.
“It follows him from the young age of 14 when he is diagnosed with Tourette’s all the way to the modern day.
“Everything he has done with his life shows the impact of friends and family, plus people finding out what Tourette’s actually is and it’s the most I have cried at a film all year.”
Even though Luke had watched a documentary about John Davidson in the past and already knew about his story, he described the film as “something else”.
And that’s not all – as many agree it’s a masterpiece.
Luke added the movie is “told in such a heartfelt way” and sheds light on a syndrome that so many don’t understand.
So it’s definitely still worth a watch if you haven’t seen it yet – even if you know a bit about John Davidson already.
The film reviewer’s video has garnered more than 600 likes and plenty of positive comments since it was posted.
One responder wrote: “What an emotional ride – fantastic film, so well acted.” Another said: “Brilliant film, best I’ve seen this year.”
Meanwhile, a third added: “Deserves an Oscar. One of the best films I’ve seen in the last 10 years.”
