Halifaxis closing 61 branches, citing a growing reliance on online and mobile banking services, but it will undoubtedly affect customers who rely on in-person services.

Halifax, part of Lloyds banking group, said the decision to close branches was made after it had asessed the likely impact on customers – including how they continue to access banking services.

The bank said it sometimes had a Community Banker visit the area after the branch closes. Or as part of an independent review, a Banking Hub or Deposit Service may be set up in a nearby location.
