Nationwide customers will likely be pleased to know the has committed to keeping its 605 UK branches operational until at least 2030.

The world’s largest building society expanded its “Branch Promise” last month and said: “The days may be getting colder, but you’ll always find a warm welcome at our branches – which are now staying put on the high street for even longer.

Emails sent to customers on November 21 continue: “One of the reasons we are named Which? Banking Brand of the Year 2025 is, unlike many banks, we are committed to keeping our branches open.

“And now, we are extending this promise and all 605 of our branches will remain open until at least the start of 2030, excluding circumstances beyond our control. It means you can keep benefiting from face-to-face banking at our branches across the UK.

“So whether it’s on the high street, in our app or over the phone, you can choose how you would like to bank with us
