Grand Central shooting LIVE: New York station stabbing as police fire at ‘machete stabber’ | World | News
Police are reportedly responding to a shooting at Grand Central Station in New York City. According to the FDNY, two people have been taken to a hospital in critical condition. According to the NY Post, cop shot a man who was carrying a machete – though the exact weapon is yet to be confirmed.
Accoriding to an eyewitness that spoke to WPIX, the person was ordered to drop the weapon before they were subsquently shot on the platform – their condition is not yet known. The incident is reported to have taken place on the platform for the uptown Nos. 4, 5, and 6 trains. A video taken by a witness shows shows a taped-off area within the subway station and a large group of police and first responders. The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) has stated at at 9:47 a.m local time that subway trains are bypassing Grand Central-42nd Street due to an NYPD investigation.
