Horror fans just have days to stream ‘ahead of its time’ thriller free | Films | Entertainment

One of the most spellbinding horror hits in recent memory has just hit free streaming.

This spine-tingling flick didn’t just rake in an impressive sum at theatres, it also gave rise to a fresh horror saga with a villain that’s earned their stripes in the annals of slasher notoriety.

Fresh from its TV debut this past weekend, Channel 4 is now the spooky residence of M3GAN, setting the stage for fans to relive the chills before the much-anticipated sequel drops later this week.

This wickedly entertaining homage to Chucky and The Terminator features Allison Williams as Gemma, a roboticist who takes in her niece Cady (played by Violet McGraw) after her parents meet their demise in a tragic accident.

To ease Cady’s grief, Gemma introduces her to M3GAN, a cutting-edge android crafted to bond with children facing trauma, reports Surrey Live.

But darkness descends when Cady becomes overly attached to her new synthetic pal, and M3GAN proceeds to eliminate anyone she perceives as a menace to her human companion.

The original movie captivated horror aficionados two years ago, with legions now eager for the upcoming release of M3GAN 2.0. However, time is ticking – it will only haunt Channel 4 for 19 more days.

According to one glowing Google review: “M3GAN is a thrilling and imaginative take on the ever-evolving relationship between humans and artificial intelligence, offering a gripping storyline that keeps you hooked from start to finish.”

They remarked: “It’s a must-watch for fans of intelligent horror and anyone intrigued by the potential and pitfalls of artificial intelligence. This film will leave you thinking long after the credits roll.”

Another viewer was so impressed they awarded the film five stars, sharing: “The concept of this film feels so realistic that the horror of the AI’s rapid growth starts haunting you.

“Overall, great work with CGI and especially on M3GAN’s facial work and expressions which makes it look so futuristic yet so creepy at the same time.”

The critic foresees a future appreciation for the film, asserting: “I see this movie has been rated average but am pretty sure in the coming future when things seem to look more relatable, people are definitely gonna praise and appreciate this film.”

On Letterboxd, an enthusiast voiced their adoration, saying: “Probably the best movie I’ve ever seen. So deeply tapped into what I like and what I want out of a movie; this was tailor made to my personal interests.

“I love robots, psychotic women, creepy kids, creepy psychotic girl kid robots. I love dangerously intense female friendship. I love CAMP.

“The film frequently cuts to M3GAN looking fierce in fresh scenarios, each time delivering an unexpected, striking, and often humorous visual treat.

“There are a thousand One Perfect Shots in this, so many visual DELIGHTS. And its mixture of comedy and terror is so adept.”

Now, there’s an easy method to stream M3GAN for free. Ensure you catch up on the original horror masterpiece before the new model is released this Friday.

M3GAN is available to stream on Channel 4. M3GAN 2.0 releases in UK cinemas on Friday, 27th June.
