Horror in Bangkok as ‘knife-wielding woman hiding in taxi’ goes on ram | World | News
A woman in Thailand has been arrested after she was seen brandishing a knife in the Nana area in Bangkok, it has been reported. Footage circulating online show people screaming and running away from the woman who was wielding a knife in her right hand.
Taking to Instagram yesterday, January 17, @niccorocks said that he was walking the streets of Sukhumvit Soi 3 when he reportedly heard people screaming. Then to his horror he spotted “a woman with a knife trying to attack people”. At the beginning of the footage, the woman is seen walking along the street holding a knife in her right hand.
She then turns and lunges at a man who appears to be trying to stop her. He attempts to kick her in response before she walks away in the opposite direction.
Speaking to the Daily Star Nicco said that he later learned from other witness that two children, on boy and one girl, had allegedly been injured during the incident.
People were seen frantically moving out of the way moments before the woman suddenly charged at a female nearby. After the attempted attacks, the woman fled to a nearby taxi and climbed inside, seemingly trying to escape.
Quick-thinking bystanders prevented the vehicle from leaving by alerting the driver. Video footage later shows police and several men in orange vests surrounding the green-and-yellow taxi amid chaotic scenes.
The woman was seen behaving aggressively, refusing to drop the knife or exit the vehicle, and repeatedly attempting to stab at someone through the car window.
A local police officer later gained access to the taxi from the opposite side and, working with bystanders outside, was able to subdue the woman.
According to witnesses, a driver jumped into the vehicle and, with the help of others, wrestled the knife from her.
