Horror moment matador gored through leg by bull – leaving him wounded | World | News
A bull fighter has suffered frightful injuries after his leg was imapled during his first fight of 2025. Serafin Marin, 42, suffered a 30cm cut into the limb on Sunday, September 21, in Madrid after being gored.
A member of the audience provided footage of the show, showcasing Marin completing the veronica pass — which includes the Matador de torres (bull fighter) waving his cape from side to side. A dark twist of event led to Marin being thrown into the air by the horns of the angered bull. Falling to the ground, four additional matadors entered the ring in a combined effort to distract the bull.
The fighter claimed he had not noticed he was injured till after entering the infirmary. He said: “I was really stunned and dizzy from the blow to the head,” and “was bleeding a lot”. Admitting to being “caught completely off guard,” Marin explained how he was “unable to react” despite being the last experienced fighter to perform in his home town Catalonia — a region that first banned bull fighting in 2012.
This Sunday was the fighter’s first attempt at returning after training for a year,. He claims his fans will have to wait an additional year for his full return, adding: “So can [they] that I still have a lot to say in bullfighting”. After viewing the footage of his accident, where the bull was described to have “directed its gaze toward the bullfighter’s groin,” he appeared to land face-down and in a bloodied stated.
One local news station reporting of “blood pouring from his temple” and a medical report stating the horn to have ripped through the outside of his right thigh. Locally operated on, the matador was then taken to Charmatin’s Fraternidad Muprespa-Habana Hospital.
This sport ends in the death of thousands of bulls each year across Europe, where animals meet their end via a knife to the lungs, reports the Sun. Inciting rage in animal rights activists, this particular event brought PETA France protestors to the region, just two days before Marin’s injury. The members of PETA wre operated arrested during an opening fight in Feria des Vendanges.
One content creator called Jermstar demanded: “[The sport] should chill the blood of anyone with a modicum of empathy. There is no justification for stabbing terrified animals or applauding as they slowly die in the ring,” claiming that was ” torture, not culture”.
