Households told ‘take action now’ if DWP payment not received before January 2026 | Personal Finance | Finance

You could be eligible for a one-off DWP payment, but you’ll need to keep an eye out for it. On your bank statement, it could appear as “DWP XB”.

Usually, the payment is issued before the New Year, for certain Brits who are eligible. You should have received it by January 1, but if not, you should take action as soon as possible. The Christmas Bonus, an annual payment of £10, is automatically deposited into bank accounts to provide specific benefits claimants with extra funds during the holiday period.

It is usually received before December 25, but some may receive it slightly later.

Anyone who was claiming one or more of 24 benefits during “qualifying week” is likely eligible for the Christmas Bonus, reports Plymouth Live.

The “qualifying week” period usually falls within the first full week of December, which this year spanned from December 1 to December 7.
