I emailed Kim Kardashian’s go-to psychic for a £30 reading

I have always been interested in spirituality. Ever since I was a kid, the idea of psychics has fascinated me. The idea that someone could pass me a message from the beyond – or even just tell me what I should be doing with my life – is one I’ve always found appealing, so when I stumbled across Psychic Sisters, I knew I had to give it a go.
Psychic Sisters, founded by renowned clairvoyant Jayne Wallace, is one of the biggest names in the business. Jayne boasts clients like Kim Kardashian, Kate Hudson and Rita Ora, all of whom sing her praises. Psychic Sisters offer in-person readings from a storefront at Selfridges, but the most affordable option is the email reading.

The online form asks for your name, date of birth, and email address, and offers the option to include a photo. You can ask two specific questions, and then a member of the team will provide a personalised response within three working days.
These emails are not handled by Jayne herself – her readings start at £150, which was most definitely out of my budget.
The email reading cost me £30, which I paid via Apple Pay and took three days to arrive. At the end of the third day with still no sign of an email, I did start to wonder if I had taken part in the stupidest scam of the century.
Luckily, on Saturday, I woke up to my personalised reading, so at least I had something for my money.
Unfortunately, what I did receive had very little bearing on my actual life.
Perhaps it would have been better if I had included a picture of myself with my email request – I decided not to, and Honorine, the woman who replied to my request, said she wished I had included one, as it would have helped her “connect with my energy”.

My reading was very generic – although I am a sucker for compliments, no matter how generic, and was touched by her sense that I had a “nice” energy.
I had asked whether there were any messages from loved ones who have died, and whether there were any lifestyle changes I should make to live a more fulfilling life.
Sadly, there were no specifics. Honorine said she could sense “a lot of spirit around me,” but not who was who. She encouraged me to talk aloud to them whenever the idea of them popped into my head, as this was a “guarantee” that someone was trying to make me aware they are there.
When it comes to improving my life, the consensus was that the very act of asking the question meant I knew something needed to change.
“Look at your life”, Honorine urged, “What’s not working? Be brutally honest with yourself; all you need to do is change it.”
Unfortunately, I have no idea what I need to change, even after looking at my life. I can only hope that if it isn’t glaringly obvious, it probably doesn’t matter so much.
The two-page reading was kindly written, but sadly, I didn’t feel as if it was on the mark. With no actual contact between myself and Honorine, I’m not sure what I expected. I wish I had psychic powers – perhaps if I had, I could have foreseen this disappointment, and I’d still have £30.
My interest in psychics has not disappeared however and if I ever find myself with a spare £150 I might just pop down to Selfridges and visit the Psychic Sisters themselves.
