Inside Lando Norris’ boozy celebrations with model girlfriend after winning F1 title | F1 | Sport
Lando Norris secured the F1 world title on Sunday after finishing third at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. And the 26-year-old celebrated his victory with his model girlfriend Magui Corceiro.
Norris led the Drivers’ Championship standings by 12 points ahead of the season-defining Abu Dhabi race and was attempting to hold off a late title charge from his closest challenger Max Verstappen. The Dutchman started from pole and secured race victory after a comfortable drive in the Middle East, but Norris held his nerve to claim third spot and bag the points needed to clinch the title.
In the aftermath of the race, Norris broke down in tears in his car and thanked his parents, before seeking out his mother and father. The Briton then went to find his girlfriend, who had watched the Grand Prix from the McLaren garage.
Corceiro hurried out of the garage to congratulate her partner, with the couple embracing with a hug and a kiss.
Norris also celebrated his win with the McLaren team and was soaked with champagne during celebrations. He was spotted grimacing after taking a swig from a Monster energy drink can. And when asked in his post-race press conference if he had been drinking just Monster or something stronger, he replied: “Hell no, it’s way more.”
He added: “This might be my only time [I celebrate a title]. I really hope it’s not, and I am confident it’s not going to be my only time of sitting here alone. It’s quite lonely here.”
Norris later attended an afterparty at the W Hotel next to the Yas Marina Circuit, which was set up with Amber Lounge, who regularly host F1 parties featuring DJs and celebrity guests. And, according to The Sun, the F1 star walked into the venue holding Corceiro’s hand.
He was then seen belting out Neil Diamond’s Sweet Caroline as well as Queen’s We Are The Champions with friends and members of the McLaren team.
Norris and Corceiro have reportedly had an on-off relationship in the past. And the driver told Vogue in September: “We met a few years ago, but we were never really together until more recently.”
When asked to name what was special about the Portuguese model, Norris added: “Everything. She’s someone I can very much be myself with. Very down to earth and she lives quite a crazy life as well. It’s nice when we can both just [rent] a boat for the day or go home together and chill.”
