Inside Peter Wright’s incredible mansion with man cave designed like a pub | Other | Sport

Peter Wright’s chances of a third World Darts Championship crown are very slim ahead of his first-round match against Noa-Lynn van Leuven. The Scottish darts star lifted the Sid Waddell trophy in 2020 and 2022 but is a 200/1 shot this time around thanks to the emergence of Luke Littler and Luke Humphries.

Wright’s success on the oche has allowed him to reap the rewards including residing in a stunning mansion alongside his wife Joanne and some unusual house guests. Snakebite moved to Suffolk at a young age and now relaxes away from darts in his own man cave that he has designed to look like a pub. This is the most impressive part of his family home and it is where he displays his World Darts Championship trophy alongside a Scottish flag.

The relaxing area obviously has a Winmau dartboard hanging from the wall alongside a fully stocked bar and a pool table. Wright’s darts collection is also on display with plenty of artwork of himself, featuring his famous colourful mohawk.

Wright’s home has a cinema room with couches that he claims are so comfortable you “can just lay on it and go to sleep.” But one of the most unique parts of Snakebite’s home is his very own ‘indoor farm’ which features a roost of chickens.

Wright has cats, too, but allows his flock of chickens to trot around the house freely. Some reports claim that the 55-year-old has up to 80 of the fowl friends strutting their stuff.

But while his home life is clearly comfortable, Wright shows no signs of slowing down on the oche. The 55-year-old is clear on his ambition to pull off a huge upset and win a third World Championship title and pocket the new £1million cash prize.

Following his 6-3 win over Joe Cullen at the Players Championship Finals, the Scot was adamant he won’t listen to people telling him to retire. Wright said: “I love proving people wrong, all the people behind the scenes and stuff like that.

“A lot of people said I should give up. Yeah, maybe they’re right. But inside here, I ain’t finished yet. When that [points to heart] says you’re finished, [then you are].

“There’s a million pound for the world champion and I’m going to be a three-time world champion. Whether I win the million pound this year or next year, I’ll definitely win.”

When probed on the thought of not retiring until the World Championship is won, he added: “Yeah, definitely. I know I can upset the big guys.

“You know, all it takes is three weeks. Three weeks, over the world, it’s Christmas time. Million pound coming home to me. Not to them.”
