Iranians receive chilling text – ‘US President is a man of action – wait and see’ | World | News

Iranians have reportedly received texts about Donald Trump, telling them to “wait and see” what course of action the US president takes. According to social media reports, messages were sent out from an anonymous number, reading, “The President of the United States is a man of action, wait and see”.

While the origin of the texts remains unclear, it comes after Iran has released a chilling video threatening a US military base in Jordan. The seemingly AI-generated clip was sent out by Iranian state media and appears to show an aerial view of the Muwaffaq Salti base being targeted by missiles.

The Al-Alam news channel, owned by the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting, also shared a video on X indicating the US military base of Eskan Village in Saudi Arabia as a target.

The US has amassed a major military buildup in the Middle East, including aircraft carriers and fighter jets, with the total numbr of forces in the region reportedly hitting 35,000.

In January, Trump warned a “massive armada” was heading to Iran amid a violent crackdown on protests against clerical rule and the country’s ailing economy.

An attack would be the first step to pressure the regime into an agreement without triggering major retaliation. People familiar with the matter said action could be taken in mere days to target military or government sites.

They said Trump’s senior aides have repeatedly presented this as an option to him, though it remains unclear how seriously he’s considering it.

If Iran still refused to cooperate, the US would then launch a bigger campaign against its facilities, potentially to topple the regime.

Officials added that military action would come in the form of a “weeks-long campaign” that could become a “full-fledged war”, the Daily Mail reports. They said it could prove “existential for the regime” and have a “dramatic influence on the entire region”.
