‘I’ve been Queen Camilla’s makeup artist for 15 years – here are my top five products’ | Royal | News

Queen Camilla is known for her regal style and elegant glow but was once worlds away from her polished persona. The 77-year-old’s transformation is partly due to her loyal makeup artist Marina Sandoval.

The Queen is a huge fan of the outdoors and is a patron of gardening. Since becoming a member of the Royal Family she has been involved with several gardening-related organisations along with her husband King Charles III.

Like many of us, she has been loyal to the same hairdresser for years, and this applies to a number of her courtiers. The Queen has visited Jo Hansford for an impressive 35 years.

This is where she met Maria – she first started out as her manicurist at the salon. For the past 15 years, Marina has been a part of the Queen’s glam squad and offered her expertise. She has been the catalyst for transforming her into the elegant woman she stands as today.

In an interview with the Telegraph, she revealed some of her top beauty secrets in how she creates Queen Camilla’s classic look. Camilla is known for her signature feathery bob and goes by the rule that less is more when it comes to her makeup.

Top on her list was the By Terry Hyaluronic Global Face Cream – which you can buy it here now on LOOKFANTASTIC for £68.

This will replenish your complexion thanks to being smooth and lightweight which hydrates the skin and adds a visible radiance.

It has rave reviews with one customer saying: “I genuinely cannot rave about this moisturiser enough. If you want glowing glass skin this is the one for you, even with my dry skin it leaves me feeling glowing and hydrated all day long. Love it.”

Marina shared: “Having a glow is what so many of us want and the skincare underneath the makeup is so important. During the winter and especially around Christmas time, use the most enriching face cream you have as we tend to be more dehydrated from cold wind and indoor heating.”

Next up is Guerlain’s Abeille Royale Multi-Wrinkle Minimiser Eye Cream which is £72 – you can buy it here now, by clicking on this link. Maria said it is important to incorporate this into your makeup routine and not just at night, as it will help make under-the-eye wrinkles less noticeable.

When it comes to your skin tone, Marina continued: “I advise my clients after a certain age to switch to a tinted moisturiser or one of the new liquid skin tints.” Her top recommendation was to set it with Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder. If you want to purchase it, click here as it is on sale for just £28.

Marina is totally against using any form of shimmer or highlighter on the Queen and suggested that it does not suit mature skin, so she opts for a bronzer.

She said that she often uses the Anastasia Beverly Hills Powder Bronzer which is available at Boots for £24.

Her final tip was that you should not match your eyebrows to your hairstyle – you must shop around to find a “colour that’s flattering for you”.

elf Cosmetics Instant Lift Brow Pencil comes in a set of two and is just £5. It features a dual-ended precision eyebrow pencil where you can brush out your strokes – you can buy it now if you click here.
