Jamie Oliver’s ‘cheat’ pizza recipe is easy to make
There’s little more tempting than a pizza.
They’re oozy, cheesy, delicious and hit the spot when you want something a little indulgent. Now, thanks to Jamie Oliver, they are also super easy to make too.
He said his “cheat’s” recipe is a “crowd pleaser” if you have guests, and you only need one pan to pull it off. It’s a speedy and easy way to whip up a tasty, Italian dish in a hurry.
Not to mention, the recipe also features sausages as a meaty topping for a super tasty treat. All you need is a few ingredients to pull off the savoury snack.
With it being made all in one pan there’ll also be very little washing up to do too.
Here’s what you need to do:
- Get a non-stick pan, add a drizzle of olive oil and put it on a medium heat.
- Brown off the sausages before adding red onions and mixed peppers to the pan. Cook for five to 10 minutes and remove from the pan.
- Make the pizza base with self-raising flour and a good pinch of sea salt. Slowly pour in the cold water and bring it together until it forms a dough.
- Spread the dough into the pan before topping with some grated cheese.
- Scatter the sausage and vegetables over the top and turn the heat to a medium/high temperature. Let the base crisp up for a few minutes before popping into the oven for a further 10 minutes until golden.
Since the clip was shared on social media, over 9,000 people liked it, and foodies were keen to share their thoughts too. Budding chefs thought the recipe looked “so easy”.
One person said: “Wow. That’s super fast.” Another added: “This guy, always knocking it out of the park.”
A third replied: “Definitely going to try it.” Meanwhile, a fourth commented: “Looks delicious.”
Some people were a little confused there was no tomato base sauce, but others seemed to like the quirky approach to the dish. After all, you can’t beat a foodie short-cut every now and then.
