Tom Brady is reportedly keen to bring in the recently sacked John Harbaugh “immediately” for the vacant Las Vegas Raiders position. Just one day after numerous NFL coaching changes took place on ‘Black Monday’, the Baltimore Ravens confirmed that Harbaugh’s stint with the franchise was over and he had been dismissed after 18 seasons.

Throughout his time with the franchise, the 63-year-old stood amongst the most esteemed head coaches in the NFL, with the pinnacle of his Baltimore tenure coming when he led the Ravens to a Super Bowl triumph in 2013. Nevertheless, Harbaugh now finds himself seeking a new job. Reports suggest that seven NFL franchises contacted the Ravens within 45 minutes of his dismissal to assess Harbaugh’s appetite for an immediate return to coaching.

Among those clubs expressing interest in appointing Harbaugh as their next head coach are the Raiders, who dismissed Pete Carroll at the conclusion of the 2025 regular season. Las Vegas wrapped up the campaign with a 3-14 record, securing the No.1 overall selection in the process.

According to the Daily Mail, minority owner Tom Brady, who is expected to play a significant role in the franchise’s off-season decision-making, is eager to recruit Harbaugh “immediately.”

A source revealed to the Mail that Las Vegas had set their sights on either Harbaugh or Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin, following their clash in the regular season’s final Week 18 encounter. The Ravens suffered defeat after kicker Tyler Loop failed to convert a crucial walk-off field goal, consequently denying Baltimore a playoff berth whilst Pittsburgh secured their spot.

This outcome led to Harbaugh’s dismissal, whilst Tomlin is currently preparing the Steelers for their Monday Night Football playoff clash against the Houston Texans.

The source revealed: “They [the Raiders] want to bring in John immediately. They are looking to have a meeting with him the moment he is ready to have a meeting. The Raiders hold the No 1 pick in the NFL Draft and Tom and Mark Davis want to put a winning team on the field.

“They think that John would be the best available option to lead the team to a very successful future.” Despite juggling roles as both a FOX broadcaster and minority Raiders owner, Brady is expected to focus heavily on his ownership duties during the upcoming offseason.

Following Carroll’s dismissal after their underwhelming campaign, Las Vegas owner Mark Davis specifically mentioned Brady’s pivotal involvement alongside general manager John Spytek in selecting their next head coach.

“Moving forward, General Manager John Spytek will lead all football operations in close collaboration with Tom Brady, including the search for the club’s next head coach,” read part of the statement.
