Jude Bellingham kicks water cooler in angry explosion after England vs Senegal controversy | Football | Sport

Jude Bellingham kicked a water cooler in anger after he was denied a late equaliser during England’s 3-1 defeat at the hands of Senegal on Tuesday evening. The Real Madrid attacker thought he had drawn England level at 2-2 with just minutes remaining, but the goal was ruled out after Levi Colwill was controversially adjudged to have handled the ball while he was jumping in the air in an attempt to get on the end of a set-piece.

Bellingham was named on the bench for England’s first friendly under Thomas Tuchel but was introduced to the action with 19 minutes remaining as England found themselves 2-1 behind. Harry Kane had opened the scoring for the Three Lions early on, before Ismaila Sarr and Habib Diarra netted to turn the game on its head. Bellingham then had his strike ruled out, with Cheikh Sabaly adding a third goal for the visitors in stoppage time at the end of the match.

Bellingham was clearly unhappy at the decision to disallow his goal. And he displayed his anger in the technical area at full-time as he put his foot through the water.

He then raced over to the assistant referee to complain about the disallowed goal.

Three Lions captain Harry Kane was ultimately forced to push the former Birmingham player onto the pitch to calm the situation down.

While the referee was reviewing Bellingham’s goal on the VAR screen, former Arsenal right-back Lee Dixon told ITV: “That’s completely not a deliberate handball. Oh, she’s going to disallow it, the ref’ going to disallow this.”

And he added: “That’s not a deliberate handball. The twisting of his arm is because he is challenging for the ball. I don’t agree with that decision.”

Meanwhile, Kane explained after the match: “If you know the rules, it’s not handball. That gets us back in the game and maybe we can go on and win the game, so it’s a big moment. It’s something we will discuss later.”

Bellingham has been slammed for his fiery personality in the past and was sent off for Real Madrid in March 2024 after protesting to the referee when the official blew the full-time whistle just before the 21-year-old had headed the ball into the back of the net.

Bellingham has come under fire for his fiery personality in the past and was caught on television telling an assistant referee to “f*** off” during a La Liga game for Real Madrid last season.
