King Charles’ banknotes serial numbers which are worth thousands

Coin collectors are all abuzz as one TikTok user shared the excitement surrounding the release of King Charles III’s banknotes.

User @CoinCollectingWizard, who boasts an impressive 175,500 followers, explained how certain notes are worth looking out for. That’s because some contain special serial numbers.

The expert said in a recent video: “Would you rather have £1million? Or would you prefer to look through every new King Charles banknote for low serial numbers?

“New banknotes featuring the portrait of King Charles III have now entered circulation. But it may be sometime before they are commonly seen in wallets and purses.”

It appears there’s a special tradition too as the King was presented with a full set of the lowest serial numbers following the tradition of the Monarch receiving the first issues of new banknotes.

The specialist then pointed what makes some of these notes potentially very valuable.

The holy grail is to find banknotes carrying serial numbers starting from 00001 or displaying unusual number patterns.

Drawing his enlightening segment to a close, he concluded: “So when you do finally come across one of these new King Charles banknotes, make sure to check those serial numbers as you never know.”

With a nod to the thrill of the hunt, he continued: “Are you going to try and get your hands on these notes? Will you be looking out for low and strange serial numbers.”
