La Roche-Posay serum that helps fade dark spots is on sale at Amazon

It can be tricky to maintain good skin during summer. The UV rays can not only cause freckles and dark spots, but also impose damage to skin elasticity. Beauty fans have discovered an anti-dark spot serum that’s designed to recover radiance.

The La Roche-Posay Mela B3 Serum, loved by beauty writers and shoppers alike, is now marked down from £48 to £25.56 on Amazon for a limited time, giving a huge 47% off the original retail price. Boasting 4,000 five-star reviews, it works to reduce acne-induced dark spots and also contains a form of retinol to boost cell renewal for a glowing, radiant complexion.

The hero ingredient, Melasyl, is a molecule targeting the production of excess melanin before it reaches the stage of showing on the skin. Along with that, the serum also contains 10% niacinamide to step up the game on reducing the appearance of dark spots, large pores and supporting the skin barrier.

According to La Roche-Posay, retinol and niacinamide have a direct compensation benefit when layered because “retinol stimulates the skin while niacinamide helps strengthen”.  The French beauty brand  added: “As they both have a neutral base and are neither acidic or alkaline, the ingredients can also be combined in a formula, such as the La Roche-Posay Retinol B3 Serum.”

Shoppers can also get the Mela B3 Serum in a set, LookFantastic sells this La Roche-Posay Correct and Protect: The Collection with Mela B3 for £38.50 and it includes the Mela B3 Serum, a Toleriane Dermo-Cleanser and SPF 50+ sunscreen – which is worth £55 in total. Biossance Squalane and Retinol Night Serum is suitable for overnight repair and it’s on LookFantastic with a 20% discount, reduced to £46.20. Korean Beauty brand Belif’s Retinol and Peptide Barrier Serum is a more affordable option (£29) and contains ingredients that smooth lines and lift skin.

Many shoppers have shared their feedback after using the La Roche-Posay Mela B3 Serum, one person loved the ‘revolutionary ingredient’. They said: ” A serum that treats tasks but also has the power to lower melatonin levels so that new spots do not appear. In three months I noticed an incredible difference while never stopping to protect myself from the sun.”

But some were put off by the smell of the serum as a customer wrote: “Honestly, not sure if it works. Tried this because my dermatologist recommended it, but the fragrance is so strong, I could not continue to use it.”

Despite that, a happy fan shared: “It works very well for me, they are one of the most expensive products I use, but it’s worth it, my skin is much better, I have been using them for more than two years, I try others but always come back to this brand. I don’t have a lot of blemishes but this makes my skin a lot more balanced and my acne marks have improved a lot.”
