Laura Woods left totally stunned with Luke Littler antics – ‘Oh my god | Other | Sport

Laura Woods was left gobsmacked after watching Luke Littler’s antics up close and personal. Woods, who used to anchor Sky Sports’ coverage for the World Championship, was overseeing a promotional challenge Littler was taking part in.

Littler, who has dominated the sport of darts since bursting onto the scene in late 2023, was tasked with threading the eye of a needle. The twist being, it was the point of his dart he had to get through the needle, while standing the best part of eight feet away.

Not one to be doubted ever, Littler didn’t only achieve the feat, but did so in his first visit to the board. His first two darts narrowly missed either side, while his final arrow of the first three nestled itself directly into the needle’s eye.

It’s safe to say Woods was impressed with the shot, as in response, she remarked: “Is it in? Oh my god, 100 points [scored]. Well done, 150 points on his first go, three down six darts left.”

Littler wasn’t able to replicate his accuracy with the remaining six darts, but he did come mighty close to repeating the trickshot on several occasions. However, it was in sharp contrast to his most recent Premier League outing, with Littler having once again crashed out early.

It’s ramped up the pressure on Littler, who after three weeks, has won just one match in the Premier League. Commenting on the world champion’s slow start, Wayne Mardle said during the Sky Sports coverage: “I didn’t think I’d be saying it so soon, that there’s a tiny bit of pressure on Luke Littler.

“Not to go and win the night but win and feel better because he’s not playing anywhere near his normal standard. It’s a real small sample but he’s not playing to his 105/106 average, which seemingly he can do on his head. It’s not working for him, it’s not going his way. Against Jonny he’s playing a man that doesn’t fear him, it’s a big game for Luke Littler.”
