Liverpool make ‘Federico Chiesa approach’ as Reds explore deal Jurgen Klopp would love | Football | Sport
Liverpool have reportedly approached Juventus to explore the possibility of signing Federico Chiesa.
The Reds are yet to dip their toe into the transfer market at this stage, with Arne Slot insisting that he is content with his current crop of players and the club will only make signings if they upgrade his ranks.
Liverpool have been heavily linked with signing a winger in recent weeks to provide an alternative option to Mohamed Salah on the right, with now-West Ham star Crysencio Summerville among those cited as an option.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Chiesa is now a player who has been shortlisted as a potential option out wide for the Merseyside option.
Liverpool have made an ‘initial approach’ to learn more about the conditions of signing the Italy international, with Juventus making it clear that the versatile forward does not have a future at the club.
The Serie A side are keen to find a ‘solution’ to the situation, with Chiesa keen to make the move to the Premier League following several seasons of speculation.
Tottenham and Chelsea are among a host of clubs to have been linked with the 26-year-old previously, with Newcastle said to have shortlisted the winger as a potential option if Miguel Almiron departed. Barcelona are also among his suitors.
Chiesa was linked with a move to Anfield on several occasions whilst Jurgen Klopp was sat in the Anfield dugout, with reports in Italy claiming that the ex-Borussia Dortmund boss is a ‘big fan’ of the ex-Fiorentina star.
