Lloyds is set to close up to 15 branches next month in response to changes in the way people bank, as more customers take business online.
Speaking to Newsquest, the bank said: “With over 21 million customers choosing our apps to manage their money, we’re providing more choice than ever before, bringing together the best in digital convenience with our people”. The spokesperson for the group added, alongside their mobile banking app, remaining customers “can use any Lloyds, Halifax or Bank of Scotland branch, the Post Office or Banking Hubs for their everyday banking, and deposit cash at over 30,000 PayPoint locations”.
In September, 2025, Lloyds Group confirmed that an additional 49 UK branches will shut close. This includes 26 Lloyds Bank branches, as well as 10 Halifax branches and 13 Bank of Scotland branches. The closures will be carried out between January and October 2026, reports Which?.
According to Lloyds, staff impacted have been offered new roles at alternative branches or within the general busines.
Those shutting doors in 2025 will all be closed in November, across both England and Wales, reports Link, with the earliest being as of next Tuesday, November 4, and the lastest on November 20.
