Luke Littler set for UK tour worth over £130k and fans charged up to £300 a ticket | Other | Sport
Luke Littler has signed up for 13 darts exhibitions which should net him in excess of £130,000 over the course of the year.
The world champion, who turned 18 last month, is now old enough to take part in the ‘friendly’ events which are played away from TV cameras. And he is wasting no time in getting amongst it, with a night in the Scottish town of Kelso already pencilled in for April 25.
According to The Sun, elite darts players bank more than £10,000 per night for exhibition events. Top-level tickets can go for £300, with players earning even more money through merchandise sales.
The Kelso event is already sold out, and Littler may have to draw on all of his energy reserves to put on a show, given that it will take place 24 hours after Night 12 of Premier League Darts in Liverpool. And there will be no opportunity for a rest thereafter, with Littler booked into an afternoon-evening double-header at Ayr Racecourse on April 26.
In May, Littler will be joined by legends past and present Luke Humphries, Phil Taylor and Raymond van Barneveld for another exhibition event in Leicester the day after Night 15 of Premier League Darts in Aberdeen, which is over 400 miles away.
Further exhibition nights in Blackpool, Skegness, Derby, Northampton, Warrington, Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Portsmouth have also been added to what is already a busy calendar for the youngster.
Littler’s bank account is flush with cash, having picked up a cool £500,000 for winning the World Darts Championship last month. He won £200,000 for finishing runner-up in 2024, £315,000 for his Premier League Darts victory and £150,000 for winning the Grand Slam of Darts, with his total prize money haul approaching £1.5million in just over a year.
His stamina will now be put to the test as he balances the Premier League with Pro Tour commitments and other major tournaments, before building up to a world title defence at the Ally Pally.
“The schedule is tight,” he told The Daily Star. “I just want to be in bed all day, but when we go out, we go and have a look around. Usually it’s hotel, food, and then you’re off to the venue to play darts… We finish very late.
“And then you can’t just go to a salad place, but most of the time I won’t eat because it’s not a good time to eat at 11pm/12am. Most of the time you just want to go to bed!”
