French President Emmanuel Macron said in a statement the arrest of Telegram founder Pavel Durov was not politically motivated, though the specific charges are still unclear. NBC News’ Meagan Fitzgerald explains Durov’s arrest and local media reports that he was arrested over allowing illegal activity to take place on the platform.
