Major energy firm shares £150 update for customers | Personal Finance | Finance
Another major energy supplier has revealed its plans to deliver substantial savings to customers in 2026.
This follows Chancellor Rachel Reeves‘ commitment during her Autumn Budget to address escalating energy costs “at the source”.
E.ON Next has confirmed its customers will receive the complete benefit of the Government’s energy reductions from April.
The supplier announced immediately after the Budget that it would pass on the full savings and has now issued updated guidance to clarify precisely how customers will benefit.
The provider’s message is straightforward: the reductions will be transferred, and this includes households on fixed tariffs too.
Customers, E.ON Next has explained, do not need to take any action – the reduced costs will be applied automatically to bills from April.
A spokesperson for E.ON Next said: “When these savings start in April, we’ll pass them on in full to all our customers. No ifs. No buts. No small print. People are under pressure and they deserve to feel the benefit directly on their bills.”
The firm expects typical households will save approximately £150 a year. E.ON Next says it has acted swiftly to provide customers with clarity and confidence, confirming that the savings will be transferred as soon as they come into effect.
British Gas and Octopus Energy have also promised to transfer benefits directly to customers, with bill reductions from April 1.
A British Gas spokesperson said: “We welcome the Government’s steps to ease energy costs as we’ve called for these levies to be moved into general taxation for some time.
“We’ll of course ensure all our customers benefit – including those on fixed-term tariffs.”
Greg Jackson, CEO and Founder of Octopus Energy, said: “Octopus has long called for cuts in policy costs to help bring bills down, so we are delighted to see the government taking action.
“These changes will bring a welcome relief to customers, and we’ll pass them through on all of our tariffs as soon as they kick in, so no one misses out.
“Octopus customers can rest easy – we’ll do it all automatically. We hope other suppliers will follow our lead so everyone can benefit.”
