Man Utd confirm latest summer transfer as INEOS wrap up two quick deals | Football | Sport

Manchester United have confirmed their latest sale of the summer transfer window, with Maxi Oyedele completing a permanent move to Legia Warsaw. One day after announcing Facundo Pellistri’s departure, the Red Devils are continuing to shape their squad as the August 30 deadline looms ever larger.

INEOS have been busy in their first summer in charge of recruitment at Old Trafford, sealing four new arrivals – so far – and sanctioning six first-team exits.

Oyedele didn’t make his senior debut but was part of Erik ten Hag‘s pre-season squad in the United States two years after joining the academy and contributing to the 2022 FA Youth Cup success.

The 19-year-old – capable of playing in defence and midfield – has been a regular for United’s Under-18 and U23 sides and spent loan stints at Altrincham and Forest Green Rovers.

He was born in Salford, but his mother is Polish, and he has represented the nation at U18, U19 and U21 level.

Now, the starlet will be playing club football in Poland, which will boost his hopes of a senior call-up.

Oyedele confirmed his United exit on Instagram before United’s announcement, writing: “My time at Manchester United has finally come to an end.

“I want to say thank you to the only club I’ve ever known. Honoured to say I’ve been at the club for 12 years and had some unbelievable experiences with some amazing teammates.

“Thank you to all the coaches, staff and the fans. I will never forget the memories I have made at this club.

“I wish everyone at Manchester United all the best as I leave ready to start the next chapter of my career. This club will always be my home and, once again, thank you.”

On Wednesday, United confirmed that another young talent, Pellistri, had left on a permanent deal, joining Greek giants Panathinaikos.

The deal for the 22-year-old winger is reportedly worth up to £7million, totalling the funds raised by United through player sales in the region of £72m.

Alvaro Fernandez, Donny van de Beek, Willy Kambwala, Mason Greenwood and Aaron Wan-Bissaka have also left, with multiple players still in the shop window.

However, United aren’t expected to have to sell to add one more name to Ten Hag’s squad before the deadline.

Uruguay midfielder Manuel Ugarte is reportedly on the verge of joining from Paris Saint-Germain on an initial loan with an obligation to buy next summer.
