Marcus Rashford ‘threw girlfriend out of hotel’ after row during ’12-hour bender’ | Football | Sport
Marcus Rashford shut a French woman out of his hotel room and dumped her clothes in the corridor after a booze-fueled night out in Belfast, according to reports. The row is believed to have erupted after the Manchester United man was accused of kissing another woman earlier in the evening.
Rashford reportedly went on a 12-hour bender in Belfast and called in sick for training the next morning. Once United caught on, the 26-year-old was dropped from the matchday squad against Newport County on Sunday, and subsequently fined two weeks’ wages.
Part of Rashford’s controversial trip involved a raging argument with a French woman, who The Daily Mail claim to be his girlfriend. Guests at the five-star Fitzwilliam Hotel were reportedly left ‘shocked’ as the row broke out at 3am on Friday morning.
The woman in question was ‘ordered out’ of Rashford’s room as the England forward proceeded to dump her clothes in the corridor after being accused of kissing another woman earlier in the night.
Rashford’s companion reportedly carried her possessions down to reception in tears and demanded a separate room as witnesses watched on. A hotel source said: “Marcus and his group came back to the hotel sometime after 2am and went up to his suite.
“He was with a woman who I thought was his girlfriend who was staying with him. But all of a sudden there was a lot of noise and raised voices when she apparently started accusing him of kissing another woman at Thompsons Garage nightclub.
Just a few hours after the alleged argument broke out, Rashford was bundled into a private jet and flown back to Manchester before calling in sick for training. United boss Erik ten Hag dodged questions on his player’s jolly over the weekend and insisted that the matter would be dealt with ‘internally’.
Rashford returned to Carrington on Monday for showdown talks with Ten Hag and sporting director John Murtough. The club released a statement claiming the player had ‘taken responsibility for his actions’, although some team-mates and staff are rumoured to be furious with his recent conduct.
