FOX NFL Sunday pundit and New York Giants icon Michael Strahan is set to feature in a new episode of ‘Shark Tank’ on Wednesday following an invitation to serve as a guest investor. Strahan is recognised for his contributions to ‘Good Morning America’ and ‘FOX NFL Sunday’ though he initially established his reputation as a defensive end for the Giants.
The 53-year-old secured a Super Bowl victory in New York and earned Defensive Player of the Year honours in 2001. The Giants icon nowadays maintains an extensive investment portfolio across various sectors, with Celebrity Net Worth valuing his assets at £65million. Strahan commands enormous popularity as a television presenter and will feature as a guest shark on the programm. Strahan revealed on Monday that he would join Barbara Corcoran, Lori Greiner, Robert Herjavec, Daymond John, and Kevin O’Leary on ‘Shark Tank.’
The programme released a collaborative Instagram post with Strahan, announcing the development. “We’re thrilled to welcome @michaelstrahan to the Tank!” ‘Shark Tank’ posted on Instagram.
“Catch him on an all-new episode of #SharkTank, this Wednesday at 10/9c on ABC and stream on Hulu.” The post featured an interview with Strahan, who outlined his enthusiasm for joining as a guest shark.
“I want to be a shark because I love entrepreneurship,” Strahan said. “I love to compete. I love to win. What I admire about ‘Shark Tank’ is that every time you watch it, you learn something.
“You learn a new question to ask. You learn a new way to look into a business. There’s always someone to root for. I think that’s the greatest joy in life, bringing people along, building people up.
“Life isn’t always fair. Life isn’t always easy. But there’s nothing better when you see someone who has truly gone on to make it. It gives hope. And that’s what ‘Shark Tank’ means to me.”
According to Spotrac, Strahan pocketed $76.4million in contracts and bonuses during his entire Giants career.
Despite his sporting heritage, Strahan has diversified his investments across multiple sectors, including the food and beverage industry.
Strahan has backed brands including PopupBagels and Accelerator Active Energy, launched his own clothing range, and holds stakes in consumer products NRG Esports and Jinx.
The Giants icon co-established his own talent management and production firm, SMAC Entertainment. Strahan’s wealth became even more remarkable following an expensive divorce in 2006.
Strahan parted ways from his second wife, Jean Muggli, 19 years ago, though a settlement was reportedly finalised in 2007.
The divorce reportedly cost Strahan $15.3m, including substantial child support payments as they shared twin daughters.
