Mick Schumacher cosies up to model as ex dates Jannik Sinner | F1 | Sport
Mick Schumacher, son of Formula 1 legend Michael Schumacher, was seen getting close to a model in Majorca over the weekend, signalling a new romance following his previous relationship.
The young racing driver appears to have found a new flame in Portuguese model Clara Ramos, several months after parting ways with former girlfriend Laila Hasanovic. The Danish Miss Universe finalist has since started dating tennis sensation Jannik Sinner.
Schumacher was spotted soaking up some winter sun with Ramos on a public golf course on the Balearic island, his arms wrapped around his new love interest. The 26-year-old was spending time in Camp de Mar, Majorca, close to where his family owns a villa.
The weekend getaway coincided with his father’s 57th birthday. Gina-Maria, the daughter of the F1 icon, posted a tribute to her dad on Saturday, over 12 years after the tragic skiing accident that led to his withdrawal from public life.
In the photo featuring her father, brother and mother, Corinna, she wrote: “The best forever. Happy birthday, Dad! (red heart emoji)”.
Mick liked the post, which garnered nearly 200,000 likes in total and saw an outpouring of affection for the Ferrari favourite. With more than three million followers on Instagram, Mick follows only 600 people in return, one of whom is Ramos.
Ramos is a PhD student at the University of Barcelona and boasts 113,000 followers on her own Instagram account.
Their match comes half a year after Schumacher’s split with Hasanovic. His ex-partner has since been spotted supporting Italian tennis star and world No. 2 Sinner at tournaments such as Wimbledon, Roland Garros and the ATP Tour Finals.
Schumacher and Hasanovic were an item for approximately three years before parting ways. The seriousness of Schumacher’s new relationship with Ramos remains uncertain as he prepares to fly to America in March.
The former F1 driver is set to kick off the new IndyCar series after being recruited by Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing, a team partly owned by television personality David Letterman.
F1 veteran Helmut Marko believes it is a good move for Schumacher. “The series is a good series, it’s very competitive,” Marko told Sport.de when asked about Schumacher’s IndyCar prospects.
“A good step for the German; he had a very encouraging test there. If he feels comfortable in America, learns the oval tricks – and he’ll need a few races for that – then it will certainly go well.”
