Money expert left mind-blown after spotting hidden detail on UK coins

Rare coins are taking the spotlight these days.

Recently, collectors across the UK were left amazed by a rare £2 coin which could fetch thousands of pounds. Experts often advise Brits to check their stash regularly.

Now it’s not just rare coins which are making a huge fuss online. Instagram maven Jordan Cox, known as @couponkiduk to his 137,000 followers, recently divulged a fascinating quirk of everyday UK currency on the gram.

Featuring regularly on ITV’s This Morning, the savings sage was astounded upon uncovering that ordinary coins from 1p to 50p can be arranged to form a shield design.

Marvelling at the discovery, he exclaimed: “I didn’t know coins did this,” while narrating: “UK coins form a shield pattern, can you see it?” In his post, Cox confessed his shock: “I’m shook – and I’ve been a ‘money expert’ for 12 years.”

He encouraged followers to align the correct British coins to reveal the hidden pattern, reminding them to keep up with his account for weekly thrifty reels.

The revelation intrigued thousands, garnering floods of likes and sparking comments like one user’s lighthearted quip: “My money isn’t in my bank account long enough to check things like this,” while others expressed: “Who knew?” and “Omg wow.”

However, some eagle-eyed people pointed out this coin configuration trick wasn’t exactly breaking news.

One individual was flabbergasted, commenting: “Are people genuinely only discovering this now? That in itself is mind-blowing to me.”

Another shared their astonishment: “I learned this on a tour of the Tower of London some years back and was equally astounded.”
