‘My neighbour keeps screaming at me for something out of my control’

A woman has hit out at her ‘entitled’ neighbour who berated her over an issue she claims is ‘out of her control’.

She shared she often orders her groceries online due to her hectic lifestyle, and despite providing her own address, the delivery vehicles consistently park outside her neighbour’s house to drop off the goods.

The homeowner never anticipated this brief inconvenience would cause any problems. However, she was mistaken.

Sharing her story on Reddit, she explained: “I live in a townhouse and share a driveway with my neighbour. We each have our side clearly marked.

“I sometimes order groceries online, and the delivery driver usually parks in the middle for just a few minutes while unloading.

“Last week, my neighbour stormed out while the driver was handing me my bags and started yelling that I was ‘blocking her property’ and ‘using her driveway without permission’.”

She explained how it’s a shared driveway and the delivery van only stays for five minutes each time – and moreover, her car wasn’t even in the drive at the time.

However, her neighbour refused to see reason, with her adding: “She yelled that she doesn’t ‘allow’ delivery drivers on her half and that if she sees it again, she’ll ‘call the police for trespassing’.”

“The driver just looked at me like, ‘Is she serious?’ I apologised to him for the scene. Needless to say, I’m bracing myself for more drama the next time I order groceries.”

One user commented on her post: “I would get a delivery service to bring her exactly one rose with a card that says call the police.”

Another added: “My neighbour accidentally had their mattress delivered to my home when they first moved in because they got confused.

“I just made sure they got their mattress. I just don’t understand why your neighbour can’t be neighbourly.”

A third chimed in: “I would order groceries once a week! When she comes out and starts b****ing, I would carry on a conversation with the delivery person and would totally ignore the neighbour!”

Yet another user suggested: “So next time she parks make sure her bum isn’t even parked half an inch on your side of driveway. Give her a taste of her own medicine.”

A final user advised: “Unless she has signs up, the coppers won’t do anything unless she asks formally the person trespassing to leave first.

“Take a screenshot of the address entered in the app and then present it to the police explaining that it was just a misunderstanding that she never asked the driver about.”
