Netflix viewers ‘binge watching’ new psychological thriller series | UK | News

Netflix users can’t stop watching an ‘absolutely crazy’ new series on the streaming service, as they urge everyone to check it out.

Film fan Eccy Reviews, who uses his social media platforms, such as TikTok, to share must-watch movies and series, has exclaimed his excitement for the new Wayward series.

The Netflix show is set in a “bucolic but sinister town” and “explores the insidious intricacies of the troubled teen industry, and the eternal struggle of the next generation”.

In a clip, he said: “Stop whatever you’re doing, cancel all your plans because this is the next series that everyone needs to binge watch.

“It’s a dark, creepy, psychological thriller and it’s called Wayward. Go and get this show on your watch list. I genuinely do hope you love this show as much as I did.”

Mae Martin created and stars in the show alongside Toni Collette and Sarah Gadon.

Commenting on his post, one user said: “Watching it now – wow.”

Another user added: “Weekend sorted. Can’t wait watch this love Toni Colette.”

While a third person added: “Watching it now and on episode 3. It is absolutely crazy but so good.”

One more user said: “I’m just on episode 6. Absolutely love Toni Collette, she’s so underrated as an actress.”

Another user wrote: “I’m on episode 3. Can’t see me getting much housework done today. Very good so far.”

Posting a 10/10 review on IMDb, one user said: “I got totally hooked. I was desperately looking for a new series to watch and finally I found something. In my opinion the cast is lovely and the story exciting.

“Sorry for the guys getting triggered by a trans person, but keep your insecurities for yourself or come out of the closet finally. It has nothing to do with the quality of the production.”

Another user added: “We watched first episode to see if it was worth it to continue with the series. We ended binging the lot in one night, lucky we were able to sleep in next morning.

“We are older couple 70s+. Except for Toni Collette we did not know any of the actors in the series.

“We found the show current with todays problems of troubled teens and just enough mystery to keep us hooked and looking forward to seeing some of these young actors again in the future.

“The series ended in such a way a second series could be possible. We gave it a 7/10.”
