Next James Bond odds slashed on rising star gaining on favourite Callum Turner | Films | Entertainment
Denis Villeneuve is gearing up to direct the next James Bond film, the first at Amazon MGM Studios and without the Broccoli family overseeing production.
Whoever is cast as the new 007 has some huge boots to fill after Daniel Craig killed off the character in No Time To Die.
Whatever the case, it’s going to be a total reboot and there’s already been rumours that Wuthering Heights’ Jacob Elordi has been in talks with the director.
The 28-year-old, who has already played Elvis Presley in the Priscilla biopic, would be the first Australian to bag the role since George Lazenby in 1969.
And clearly he has his backers at the bookies as the 6ft 5 star has seen his odds of being cast as the new 007 slashed in the last 24 hours from 5-1 to 5-2.
Coral’s John Hill said: “The release of Wuthering Heights has prompted a huge gamble on Jacob Elordi becoming the next James Bond. His odds have been slashed in half, and he is now the second favourite for the role behind Callum Turner.”
Take it all with a pinch of salt, but here are the full odds for the next Bond: 4-7 Callum Turner, , 5-2 Jacob Elordi, 3-1 Aaron Taylor-Johnson, 6-1 Henry Cavill, 8-1 Tom Hiddleston, 8-1 Theo James, 10-1 Anthony Boyle, 12-1 Harris Dickinson, 16-1 Jack Lowden, 16-1 James Norton
