Nick Kyrgios’ ex Costeen Hatzi reveals shocking weight loss after ‘really tough chapter’ | Tennis | Sport
Nick Kyrgios‘ former girlfriend Costeen Hatzi has opened up on her weight loss while going through a ‘really tough chapter’ six months ago. The pair had been dating since 2021 but their relationship came to an end earlier this year. Rumours of a breakup had been circulating for a while before Hatzi finally announced they had gone their separate ways.
The pair began dating after Kyrgios had responded to Hatzi’s online advert about a mirror for sale. They were initially head over heels for each other, with Hatzi accompanying Kyrgios to tournaments around the world before they called it quits. Now, the social media influencer and business owner has revealed that she reached her lowest weight ever during a tough period earlier this year.
In a post, she wrote: “Six months ago I was the smallest I’d ever been – 51kg – not from health but from stress and a really tough chapter. I kept a lot private while I focused on healing.
“I put myself first again: eating properly, lifting consistently, focusing on surrounding myself with best friends and family. Now I’m feeling and looking the best I’ve felt in a long time and I’m finally in a place of peace and clarity.
“If you’re going through it, time really does heal – keep moving forward and building healthy habits.”
It comes after Hatzi opened up on the healing process she needed to carry out following her split from Kyrgios, who is preparing to face Aryna Sabalenka in a so-called Battle of the Sexes.
“I was fully supportive,” she told News Corp in August. “I went to all the tournaments. I was doing everything behind the scenes – his washing, his cooking… everything.
“I was happy to, because I loved him and we had a great relationship at the time, so I don’t regret anything that I’ve done. It’s different now. I have all this time for myself.
“I’m in a really reflective but motivated place. It has definitely been a bit of an adjustment, but I mentally prepared myself for that. It wasn’t a shock.
“This year has been like a transition period. Of course there are days where, you know, I’m not 100 per cent happy, but I feel like I’ve been headstrong and I have a positive outlook on life.”
Hatzi previously said the relationship ended on good terms, telling Australian media: “I’m loving my work and doing content every day. We haven’t spoken, relationships come to an end. I believe it’s for the best.
“I hope he finds peace and happiness within himself. I definitely entered the relationship with pure intentions. I loved him. I thought we had a great connection.”
Kyrgios, meanwhile, also said there was no bad blood with Hatzi following their split, saying: “Things happen. I wish her nothing but the best. So many incredible moments that will stay with me.”
