Nick Kyrgios shares true feelings towards Costeen Hatzi as he breaks silence on split | Tennis | Sport

Nick Kyrgios has revealed that he holds no ill feelings towards Costeen Hatzi after splitting from the model and influencer earlier this year. The pair had been in a high-profile relationship for more than three years, with Hatzi accompanying Kyrgios to tournaments around the globe before they called it quits in March.

They met when Kyrgios responded to Hatzi’s advert about a mirror for sale in late 2021, and quickly became one of the most recognisable couples in tennis. It therefore came as a shock to fans of the Aussies when split rumours began to emerge several weeks ago.

Hatzi confirmed their fears in an interview with The Advertiser, saying: “We haven’t spoken. I hope he finds peace and happiness within himself. I definitely went into the relationship with pure intentions.”

Now, Kyrgios has shared how he feels towards Hatzi following their break-up, and there would appear to be no bad blood between them. He said during an Instagram Q&A session: “Things happen. I wish her nothing but the best. So many incredible moments that will stay with me.”

Hatzi shed light on their relationship last year, when she revealed that she wouldn’t have said no if Kyrgios got down on one knee. She told Who: “I mean, I’m still pretty young. He’s a little bit older – but there’s no rush [to get married]. Still, if he did propose, I wouldn’t say no.

“He’s just himself and he won’t shy away from being himself. I think a lot of athletes, they don’t really show a lot of personality on the court, but he’s not afraid to be himself. He says what he wants! He’s the exact same person off the court as well. He’s not putting it on.”

Injuries have forced Kyrgios into a long period of inactivity since 2022. Of the six matches he has played since returning to the court, he has only won one, as he grapples with the fallout from knee, foot and wrist issues.

Many tennis fans were hoping to catch a glimpse of Kyrgios at Wimbledon, where he reached the final three years ago. But a setback in the Australian’s recovery will keep him out of the entire grass-court season.

Kyrgios won’t even get the chance to appear as a BBC pundit like he did last year at SW19, as the broadcaster have reportedly axed him from their coverage. Some spoke out against the BBC‘s decision to hire him in 2024, just over a year after he admitted to assaulting an ex-girlfriend.
