Nikki Haley writes ‘finish them, America loves Israel’ on Israeli rocket headed for Gaza | World | News

Former Presidential candidate Nikki Haley has written “finish them” on an Israeli rocket as she visits the country amid growing concern about the war against Hamas in Gaza.

Haley, who was beaten by Donald Trump in the Republican Primary race, visited Israel‘s northern border on Tuesday as she said: “America stands by Israel. Israel is fighting the enemies of the US today. Don’t stop until you win.”

She was accompanied by former Israeli ambassador to the UN and current Knesset member Danny Danon, who added: “The situation in the north is intolerable and cannot continue.

Israel must take the initiative and change the equation. The residents of Tyre and Sidon will evacuate their homes, and the residents of the north will return to their homes.”

Haley was also pictured writing the following on a rocket destined for Gaza: “Finish them! America loves Israel!”

Her unerring support for Israel comes as the country and its Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, come under increasing scrutiny for its handling of the war.

Despite having been urged by US President Joe Biden and other allies not to attack Rafah, northern Gaza, the IDF has proceeded with devastating strikes in recent days.

On Monday, Netanyahu conceded that an airstrike on Rafah that killed dozens was a “tragic mistake” after 45 were reportedly killed, including women and children.

The strike came after Hamas fired rockets at Tel Aviv.

The IDF said in a statement: “The strike was carried out against legitimate targets under international law, using through the use of precise munitions and on the basis of precise intelligence that indicated Hamas’ use of the area.

“The IDF is aware of reports indicating that as a result of the strike and fire that was ignited several civilians in the area were harmed. The incident is under review.”

The international community is applying increasing pressure on Israel to halt its operations in Gaza and work toward a ceasefire.

On Friday, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) ordered Israel to halt its Rafah offensive as South Africa’s case of genocide against Israel continues to be considered.

The International Criminal Court (ICC) is also seeking arrest warrants for Netanyahu and Hamas’s leader in Gaza, Yahya Sinwar.

The United Nations Palestinian refugee agency, UNRWA, has described the situation in Rafah as “horrifying”.

Posting on X, they said: “Information coming out of Rafah about further attacks on families seeking shelter is horrifying.

“There are reports of mass casualties including children and women among those killed. Gaza is hell on earth. Images from last night are yet another testament to that.”
