Nissan drivers blown away by car feature they never knew they had
Drivers have been left in awe after discovering a ‘handy’ feature they never knew their car had.
A TikTok video about the ‘secret’ function has gone viral after motorists were impressed by its ability to instantly create more room in their car.
A video posted by user Mxllyelizabeth03 has now been viewed more than 2.6million times as she shared her surprise after finding out about her car’s mechanism.
With one simple pull of a lever, Mxllyelizabeth03 realised the back passenger seats in her Nissan car can slide back to create more leg space in the vehicle.
“Just discovered my Micra has sliding rear seats,” she said, before adding: “Owned this car nearly four months.”
She then demonstrated how she can give passengers more space by tugging at the ‘hidden’ handle.
“My passengers can now have leg room,” she said in amazement. In the caption, the TikToker asked: “Did anyone else know this?!
“For reference this is a K12, 2004. How I only just discovered this i don’t know, but it’s so handy.”
The clip has over 115K likes and hundreds of comments. In response, Scarlett said her Nissan car has an “endless goldmine of features”.
Another commented: “Are you for real right now?” Coil wrote: “Nissan micra k12 is my favourite car and dream car.”
Several people commented their own discoveries, including a user called M who said: “You guys also know about the secret compartment under the passenger seat right?? Try shoving your hand between where the back and the seat meet, you should find a small handle that you can pull.”
Carley stated: “Also found out today that the hook in front of the passenger seat next to the dashboard on the right is for shopping bags.”
As there are many drivers unaware of secret features in their vehicles, experts at Nationwide Vehicle Contracts have shared three ‘little-known’ ones.
1. Underneath floor mats:
Some car models may have hidden storage spaces underneath the floor mats, which makes an ideal place to store car cleaning products and driving supplies. This is more common to be found in SUVs and vans, as these vehicles have higher floors.
2. Hooks:
Did you know about the hidden away hooks that may be hiding in your car? Check your car for small hooks above the back doors and above car windows, which make the perfect place to store small bags and to hang clothes.
3. Umbrella hidden in door:
Skoda drivers may not be aware but there is a hidden umbrella located inside the door on some car models. If you’re unprepared for a sudden weather change when travelling by car, then don’t fret as you can locate an umbrella at all times.
