‘One of Pixar’s greatest movies’ is finally streaming for free | Films | Entertainment

Disney+ is home to all of Pixar’s beloved animated movies, and the studio’s latest family classic has just joined their ranks.

Known for huge successes like Finding Nemo, Monsters Inc and the Toy Story franchise, the animation company has also created sequels and spin-offs to many of their beloved films.

Their latest output, a sequel to one of fans’ favourite Pixar movies of the past 10 years, has become the biggest film of the year after earning a staggering $1.6 billion at the global box office.

Now, Inside Out 2 is finally available for home viewing free for those with a Disney+ subscription.

Families and animation buffs won’t want to miss out on this chance to catch the latest Pixar if you missed it in the cinema or watch it all over again if you loved it on the big screen.

Audiences and critics adored the latest adventures of Riley’s (played by Kensington Tallman) emotions, including Joy (Amy Poehler), Disgust (Liza Lapira), Fear (Tony Hale), Anger (Lewis Black) and Sadness (Phyllis Smith).

Two years after her family moved to San Francisco, Riley is becoming a teenager and has a whole host of new emotions to deal with; Anxiety (Maya Hawke), Envy (Ayo Edebiri), Ennui (Adèle Exarchopoulos) and Embarrassment (Paul Walter Hauser).

Millions of fans loved the film upon its release, with many hailing it as one of Pixar’s best.

One fan said on X (formerly Twitter): “Finally saw Inside Out 2. The first one is legitimately one of the greatest movies I’ve ever seen. This lives up to the standard and is just as much a masterpiece.”

Critic David Opie said: “I thought #Insideout2 was going to be an unnecessary sequel, but it turned out to be even better than the first film.

“More complex, more mature and also more emotional in every possible way. It’s also reminded me to be kinder to myself and I really needed to hear that right now.”

Another fan of the film posted: “INSIDE OUT 2: gives me great joy to tell you this is outstanding. Far and above the best Pixar feature in years.

“Gorgeously animated, brilliantly written, fast paced, surprisingly tense throughout, and like the first one, very thematically powerful. Fantastic sequel.”

And a final fan described it as an “instant classic!! Pixar is back. Engaging script. POIGNANT & HILARIOUS!

“Beautiful storytelling that fills you with a load of emotion & turns your insides out. Not just another cartoon, it’s one of the BEST sequels ever! A fitting end setting up what’s next.”

Fans who are already desperate for Riley’s story to continue in a possible third film are in luck, as Disney+ has confirmed a spin-off, Dream Productions, is launching on the platform this December.

A synopsis for the spin-off reads: “Taking place in between the events of Inside Out and Inside Out 2, Dream Productions is an all-new series about the studio inside Riley’s mind where dreams really do come true—every night, on time and on budget.

“Riley is growing up and when her memories need some extra processing, Joy and the rest of the Core Emotions send them to Dream Productions.

“Acclaimed director Paula Persimmon (voice of Paula Pell) faces a nightmare of her own: Trying to create the next hit dream after being paired up with Xeni (voice of Richard Ayoade), a smug daydream director looking to step up into the big leagues of night dreams.”

Inside Out 2 is streaming now exclusively on Disney+. Dream Productions is launching Wednesday, December 11.
