Shocking footage has emerged showing the moment chaos erupted following a major Welsh Cup match. Videos widely shared on social media depict fans clashing with police after the game.

The incident occurred after Flint Town clinched their place in the Welsh Cup semi-final with a 5-1 victory over Bangor at the Go Goodwins Stadium in Llandudno. North Wales Police reported that five individuals were arrested in relation to the “serious disorder” which took place outside a local pub following the match.

The footage reveals police detaining several fans, with one officer brandishing a taser and instructing people to step back.

Bangor City acknowledged the incident and the “ongoing police action”. “CPD Bangor City 1876 has established policies and procedures to address any issues raised and will follow those processes should they be required,” a statement from the club read.

The FAW stated that “violence has no place in football”, adding that the association would aid the police investigation if necessary.

North Wales Police reported that officers were summoned shortly before 4pm to an incident involving a large crowd outside the Nevill public house in Vaughan Street, Llandudno.

Five individuals were subsequently arrested on suspicion of public order offences, section 47 assault causing actual bodily harm and assaulting an emergency worker.

In a statement, Bangor City acknowledged that it was aware of video footage of the incident being shared on social media.

“We understand the matter is currently subject to ongoing action by North Wales Police, therefore, at this time, the club is unable to comment further,” it stated.

“CPD Bangor City 1876 has established policies and procedures to address any issued raised and will follow those processes should they be required. Further updates will be provided if and when appropriate, until then the club will be making no further comments.”

A representative for the FAW said: “The JD Welsh Cup Semi-Final between Flint Town United and Bangor City 1876 at the Go Goodwins Stadium in Llandudno was played without incident.

“The FAW are aware of reports of alleged disorder in Llandudno town centre following the conclusion of the match, and whilst this falls outside of the FAW’s jurisdiction, the association will support the North Wales Police investigation if required.

“The JD Welsh Cup Semi-Final itself was a positive event for Welsh football. Violence has no place in football and damages the positive experience that is enjoyed by the majority.”

North Wales Police requested anyone who filmed the incident to get in touch with officers.

Police have urged individuals not to speculate about the incident or post personal information, including names and photos, of those involved.

A statement from the police read: “Following the Welsh Cup semi-final between Flint Town United and CPD Bangor 1876 on Saturday (March 7), officers were called at 3.59pm to an incident of serious disorder involving a large number of people outside the Nevill public house on Vaughan Street, Llandudno.

“Five individuals were subsequently arrested on suspicion of public order offences, S.47 ABH and assaulting an emergency worker. This remains a live investigation including the reviewing of video footage and CCTV.

“We are aware of considerable interest on social media, including widespread sharing of recorded footage by people present, and we would ask anyone who recorded the disorder to send the video to us to assist in our ongoing investigations.
