Princess Kate beamed from ear to ear as she stunned in a winter ensemble looking extremely fetive in red.

Tonight’s event is spearheaded by the Princess of Wales and supported by The Royal Foundation, the organisation backing the Prince and Princess of Wales charity endeavours. King Charles III and the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh are expected to be in attendance tonight to support Kate and her event.

The joyous occasion aims to bring people together and show support for those who have had a tough year.

Westminster Abbey opened its doors earlier this evening and was filled with 1,600 people – in attendance are those who had helped their family or friends through their work, or as they selflessly gave up their time through volunteering during the year.

This comes after the Princess announced that she had finished preventative chemotherapy treatment after being diagnosed with unspecified cancer.

Prince William, 42, has described how “brutal” the past year has been, with both his wife’s and father’s health battles.

Earlier this month, Kensington Palace confirmed the theme of this year’s event would be “how much we need each other, especially in the most difficult times of our lives”.

Princess Kate penned a personal letter with the theme of love being a pulse throughout it.

“Love is the light that can shine bright, even in our darkest times,” she wrote before reflecting on the troubles that she has overcome.

Although she mentioned that Christmas was one of her “favourite times” of the year, the Princess of Wales described the holiday as a celebration of “joy”, but also gave felt it was a great opportunity to “reflect”.
