Princess Kate’s ‘comfortable’ walking boots now in Black Friday sale

Kate Middleton has been a fashion icon among royal fans and while she is known for her stylish and polished fashion sense, certain engagements call for more pratical attire. Last year, the Princess of Wales was seen wearing a pair of walking boots during a two-day trip to Wales to mark the 60th anniversary of Central Beacons Mountain Rescue and a few months later, a visit to Madley Primary School in Hereford.

During both events she wore the Berghaus Women’s Supalite II GORE-TEX Hiking Boots for abseiling and walking activities in the countryside. The very same shoes were also sported for Kate and William’s 10th wedding anniversary.

Retailing for £185, Go Outdoors’ Black Friday sale is now offering 25% off to shoppers who sign up to their membership, which costs £5 per year. Members will then save £47 on the boots and can purchase them at £138 instead.

The Superlite II style is the new version of Brasher’s classic, well-loved ultra-lightweight walking boot. It is made of super soft Pittard’s leather with memory foam cushioning and a Vibram-branded mud-shedding, shock-absorbing sole.

Sizes are available between UK4 and UK8 except UK6, the cushioned and supportive footbed is made to last for hours of walk. Not only does Princess Kate love wearing them, customers are also impressed how hard-wearing the boots are.

One pensioner shared: “I’m 66 and all my joints ache! However, these are the most comfortable shoes I have ever had. My feet don’t overheat. My ankles are well supported. My joints don’t hurt. I could wear them all day.”

Another customer explained why she loved the classic British walking boots so much: “My last pair gave me many years of service. I am sure these will. Hard wearing and totally waterproof.”

Some were happy that the Berghaus boots didn’t need breaking in as one dog owner shared: “Wore them in on a couple of short dog walks but there really was no need to do this as the leather was so soft and supple very comfortable and light boots.”

But some decided to return because they found the boots too heavy, with one sharing: “Desperate for lightweight boots, name implies they are lightweight but they aren’t. Met another woman who like me was feeling the weight of the boot before trying on. Please make ‘Lite’ light.”

Another pair of boots also loved by Kate is the famous Le Chameau Wellington Boots, £180. Handmade using natural rubber that’s tested to withstand the rigours of the countryside and at sea, the French wellies are now available in different styles in black colour, which has become wet-weather walkers and city dwellers’ winter favourites.

Fashionistas might be interested in these On CloudWander Waterproof hiking shoes, which are now on Black Friday sale for £120 instead of £170. Sizes are limited on the off-white colour but there’re still plenty of stock available in classic black.
